Biography - Janice Edwards
B.Bus (Marketing and Computing), B.Ed (Primary), M.Ed (Mathematics)
Janice is a school timetabling specialist with over two decades of experience in education, including roles as a teacher, school administrator, and senior leader within the education technology sector. Since 2020, she has supported more than 1,000 schools across Australia and internationally with their timetabling needs — from new builds and complex modelling to training and on-site support. Janice now brings this expertise directly to schools, offering personalised, hands-on timetabling support grounded in a genuine understanding of school life.
She began her career as a Primary School Teacher before retraining as a Mathematics Teacher, later taking on responsibility for her school's timetabling — a complex undertaking for an institution of over 1,600 students. It was here that her passion for timetabling took hold.
In 2009, Janice introduced Edval to her school, going on to lead its implementation across timetabling, daily organisation and interviews while serving as Head of Administration. This combination of educational leadership and technical expertise positioned her well for a move into the education technology sector.
Janice joined Edval (Now known as Tes) as a Timetable Specialist in 2020. In the years since, she has supported more than 1,000 schools across Australia and internationally, with experience spanning new-school-build timetables, high-rise school modelling, audits and remodelling, training delivery, full timetable construction, and Timetabler-in-Residence engagements.
Her career with the organisation progressed through several leadership roles, including NSW Area Manager, General Manager, Head of Timetable Operations, and ultimately Head of Customer Operations (AU), where she oversaw the broader product suite for the Australian market.
In June 2026, Janice stepped away from Tes. She still has that love of timetabling and now wants to establish a more direct, personalised approach to supporting schools — returning to her core passion for timetabling. Drawing on years of close engagement with school leaders, she understands the operational pressures facing Executives and Head Teachers, and is committed to providing the hands-on, tailored support schools need.
